IN THE MIDDLE AGES, THE "MINT" WAS THE SYMBOL OF THE FREE CITY OF WORMS, A MAGNIFICENT STRUCTURE WHICH WAS THE PRIDE OF EVERY CITIZEN.  
IN 1689 THIS BUILDING AND IN FACT THE ENTIRE CITY WERE RAZED TO THE GROUND.
